November 25 2008 | Here is the complete crane

eh eh that's it, it's finished, the hardest work I have ever been doing i suppose, I am sooo happy. (well i am sooo happy it's a wreck, so I can pretend  all the little defects come from the fact it's a wreck..)

November 25 2008 | The crane is finished!

At long last here is the crane finished. i have been using superglue to straighten the ropes, otherwise the metal pulleys were not heavy enough to straighten the rigging.

November 25 2008 | Ropes!

here I am trying to do the ropes into the pulleys! less hard than what i imagined..
Actually there is at least one week between the 2 pictures, as the little details on those square pulleys were quite demanding.

November 25 2008 | The pulley is attached

Okay, so i am late for my updates -there has been some work going in fact, but I can't stop catching colds because it's barely more than 10°C in the garden shed where I work despite some heating (it heats the feet but that's all), so I tend to be a zombie like most of the time these days.
Anyway, here is the pulley as attached! Kind of hard to solder this way, because if you put too much heat, all the other joints undo themselves. i think i will have to buy some different melting heat solders as well as another iron if I want to succeed completely with such works

November 02 2008 | The pulleys #3

here is the other type of pulley, now completed. I used some grandt like bolts as for extra detailing. It took me too much tiome to come with this one actually, but then.. why being in  a hurry ;)

November 02 2008 | The pulleys #2

So well, here's the way i am doing those pulleys: just like beads for a neklace actually. Of course I use some bits of metal for the spacing to be even.

October 31 2008 | The pulleys #1

Now some real detail work: the pulleys.
I don't even know if it's the proper English word.
Let's start with those Scale Hardware rivets which are soldered on the first part while using a brush end tip so that these actually stand

October 31 2008 | More filler!

Some Tamiya filler applied at the joints between the 2 sides. There is a lot of work to be done, especially around the curves. There is 2 coats of diluted filler applied already, and I don't see the end of it
