October 31 2008 | Masséna's crane parts soldered

So here are the 4 sides soldered. it didn't went on that smootly and one of the corners doesn't look that good.
Well, I have been soldering the 2 parts together, -there is some kind of bump at the joint between the 2 elements, so I rougly figured it with some magic Sculp. I will sculpt a more decent one when the whole will be properly mastic-ed.

October 29 2008 | All the parts are now soldered

OK you may see that once again, the problem was to fit some metal bit at the place where there is an opening as I was stupid enough not to plan a part.
Anyway it's all done now, it will be time for rivets!

October 29 2008 | Ah well of course..

Don't forget to clean the parts with Acetone, or there will still be some photoresist material attached to it, and then you won't be able to solder anything on it if this is not removed

October 29 2008 | The lower parts of the crane

*Note to the RSS user* it is now repaired and the links work. I spent sooo much time repairing that dog of a website. Everything leaks on it.
Anyway, i am now really advanced when it comes to that crane, but better begin with the beginning: here are the lower photoetch parts for the crane. the bottom of it will be attached to the hull.

October 24 2008 | The gun protection

Well, I don't have any rivets left to end the bottom of the crane so here is the latest I have been soldering: the gun protection. When travelling, those are closed.

October 17 2008 | Done..

hmm, I don't know how I managed but i fixed those top and bottom parts + the inner metal blocks. It's pretty strong too!
here is a simulation for the whole -now I will have to put some rivets on the top and bottom metal plates..

October 17 2008 | The worse is yet to come

Indeed there is another inner piece of metal to fix as there is some big relief on the top and bottom parts! So i had to do this piece big enough to cover a bit of each part  and yet thin enough not to block the holes for rivets!
