June 05 2009 | Massena's crane handle

follow the arrows! To clarify the job being done here, just follow  the arrows.

notice that the 2 side supports for the crane are done by pressing some MS on a thin plastic sheet, it's more convenient and less tiring than to cut in thick plastic

June 05 2009 | The base for the crane

remember the crane I have been working on 3 pâges ago? well, it's being fixed on some sort of axis on the hull, and there is some support for it which is being fixed on the hole, ans better start working on it.

first plasticard cut, then roll the platsicard and then fill it with Magic Sculp. If you try putting too much magic Sculp in the first ploacs you will only destroy the plastic build as the parts will detach! So better proceed with small coats until the work is done

June 01 2009 | Wood on massena's deck

here are the planks I have been fixing behind the metal part

June 01 2009 | Extra metal floor on the Massena

checking 3 or 4 times more at my pics, i saw there was another big metal part befor the wood (?) of the boat's floor. Actually I can only suppose it's wood as some other boats got linoleum on the deck.

That's a rather thick (? maybe hollow?!) plate, that's being situated at 1mm (in scale) behind the main wall. no picture for the momdent, but I will post my reference when i will be starting the stanchions

June 01 2009 | The chains "containers"

So here i had to do back again the chain containers as those were really clumsy. i used some green stuff for that, and also filled the holes of the lower portholes chained containers as those simply don't exist

June 01 2009 | Portholes..

now look at that, I just dicovered that the scheme of the portholes is not the same everywhere on the boat! there are some chaisn on the top level, and some inner mechanism without chains on the bottom floor, how crazy can you get, I thought only ze English were smoking opium at that time

June 01 2009 | The rear part of the gun as completed

Of course I needed plenty of mastic for the whole to fit. I used Squadron mastic that i thought was pretty good. I realized that when i was doing galilée, the grey mastic from Tamiya was not very convenient to use when i was trying to overpaint it with very clear colour. This is why I switched.

looks okay, maybe the door leans a bit, oh well, I will sure be able to find a cheap trick so that nobody notices yuk yuk, I am such a clumsy builder

June 01 2009 | Time to actually paste the thing..

Suite tricky really, so that everything would be leveled
