April 06 2009 | Nice to be home again

After a few weeks taking some rest after that Jaws diorama, I am back home to prepare Galilée 2.

Galilée you know about, it's on the left frame of the site, but then i ran unhappy with it.

First i was pissed of people still preferring the Sokol diorama, and then i thought the main fig and its position was a bit pathetic.

Even if he is supposed to not have a sizable future, he's still supposed to act a bit against it!

So here we are, first trim a few pieces, and repaint others, let's undo the diorama.

Something is just not right with those windows, so let's sand them again. More about those  and the new  woodwork soon

April 17 2009 | A new video!

It took me a good week to come up with this -these are footage I shot around january outside (which exoplains the gloves, it was freezing!) It's pretty much hesitant and i a good actor i am not. But i will gte more confidence and I hope the next instalments will be better :)

English speaking persons, please forgive my terrible accent, I am some sort of Borat of diorama making on that one ah ah.

Anyway, it is some sort of critic of my own diorama along with what it will take to get things right.

Any comments welcome really!

April 24 2009 | Sailors

I spent a lot of time lately trying to find some postcards of old boats, here is one I found downhill, it kinda shows what early XXth century sailors looked like. the trousers don't seem to be made of great quality cloth.

April 24 2009 | The right position of the sailor

The only way i found to get a realistic position for the figs I use: to myself try the position with my wife taking the picture.

Here is what it gives later, after I covered of a thin Magic Sculp layer some wire..

on for detailing!

April 24 2009 | A second night spend over trousers!

aaah, it looks better now. yet, a lot of sanding will be needed. I think the first day I didn't mixed the 2 components thoroughly because the MS tended to breakl under the fingers, oh dear!

next step will be the "breast" of the guy.

April 27 2009 | The torso

uuuh, he is pretty thin I must say.. perhaps too thin? well there is at least one place that is wrong, it's the way the belly muscles are tied to the chest, there is too much of a gap there. I shall arrange this..
