May 28 2008 | Some extra stripes
On the pictures I could make up some armour stripes on the base so here they are.
here is also the hull as it looks now complete with this turret base

May 28 2008 | Gluing and mastic on the base turret
Now I glued it to the base and found out that it didn't really fit with the slope of the lower hull, so nevermind, a bit cutting, mastic and sanding and everythging is alright.
May 28 2008 | The turret base
The plans I found on the Service Historique site are very good but sadly are not totally precise. i had to refer to some pictures I was sent to make out that armour circle that encircled the base of the turret. So here I am gluing the plastic. The width is aproximatively 9cm.
May 28 2008 | Time to prepare the gluing of the 2 hulls
I can't remind if I took this picture as being a rehearsal of the gluing or if I was holding the hull while the glue set. Anyway, it's now glued!
May 28 2008 | Cheap tricks
It's kinda tricky to fix actually!
May 28 2008 | Time to fix the metal parts
using some clamps to fix the metal to the plastic
May 24 2008 | Gluing the upper metal parts
here is some serious part of the job that begins. If gluing the platsic parts will be as dumb as model making, fixing the destroyed metal parts will be another thing. here I am with some clamps. But notice there will be some emptiness that I will have to cobble up here and there.
In other workds that will be a week for playing with filler, a whole tube of Tamiya mastic will probably be needed!

May 24 2008 | A picture to sum the work going on
So here you see all the parts together.
Now that's a bit of a work and quite huge too. I will need quite some time to be abble to detail properly all this..
So why metal and plastic, hey the plastic part will show an almost intact part of the hull while the metal ones (needed for the holes of the rivets) will hold on all the destroyed parts of the hull.
hey i can't help having a real appetite for destruction :)
It's going to be fun.
