July 10 2009 | Support for the crane
Now here is the support for the crane, complete with Archer rivets and grandt line ig rivets too.
Notice the brass tubing which is to insert the crane on -should be convenient for transport afterwards -IF I'm ever going to transport it
July 11 2009 | I guess this is over for now,
here is the hull as it is now.
Pretty huge to my standarts, next steps will be of course the to detail better the turret, and especially the 130mm gun which will be sort of tricky as I don't have much reference.. oh well..
October 23 2009 | Back again
Since how many time did I start that diorama? 18 months it seems?
uuh..
Well, here I am for a good 2 months session again. The details were really getting quite sharp last summer, so i kept on that way -first by detailing the gun shield with some Grandt line bolts tied with Green Stuff Duro
October 24 2009 | Detaling the crane
lately i have been sent some further documentation about the MAsséna, including some sort of close-up of the crane, which means I had it all wrong on some parts. I have to this part again, and to build the circular mantlet, I will just glue some plasticard (held together during drying time with a clamp) and fill it with Magic Sculp later
October 25 2009 | The base of the crane
here is the new base according to the new photographies I got (copyrighted, I had to rpomise not publihing those, oh dear)
that's basically a MAgic Sculp lump, half dried up, and glued in place to do the ledge.
October 27 2009 | The axis
I also found out that the round shape at mid-crane was in fact a sort of axis and that the crane actually turned around it! I had to reshape that part also..
October 28 2009 | A new gun sight
It looks like I forgot to put a sight on the gun -and also now I wonder if I put it on the right side. Whatever, here it is, I had to cut a big portion of the turret, fix some photoetch hole with Green stuffn and when it dried up, I covered the whole with Tamiya mastic
