July 08 2007 | New photoetch
i still didn't win the game with homemade photoetch, here is the result of my next attempt -I indeed needed some extra bits for some big details in the funnel's area, as well as for the gun craddle's support. Anyway, here are some heavely corroded parts that I will use, the corrosion is actually not a problem as , as usual, i am actually building a wreck ;)July 08 2007 | The gun's craddle -top
I actually don't know whether this part is called "the craddle" or not, but anyway, since I already made all the photoetch parts, most of the work you can see looks like dumb model making. Here is the top view
July 08 2007 | The gun\'s craddle -bottom
Here's a view from the bottom -note the corroded supports that will need some mastic to make some good right joints at each angles.July 08 2007 | The craddle\'s side plates
Then I proceeded to bend the side plates, you may have notice on former pictures that I marked with some indelebile black pen the places where the front and back stairs will be, because I don't need any plates at those specific places.July 08 2007 | The Craddle 2
Here are the border plates now glued (on my hands too), and with some D shaped Evergreen bit both on the top and the bottom of the side plates. Now i will need to mastic the whole of this work and to build the stanchions..
July 10 2007 | The stanchions
The stanchions are done in a quite risky way: glass beads for necklaces glued on some 0.7 mm thick brass tubing. the trick is to sand each of the wire's extremities so that theyt offer more adherance when you glue them. But I will add a very tiny drop of 2 components epoxy glue at each joints overwise I think i can suscribe to the fact I will have to reglue those every 5 minutes
